Journal fit
Submissions should make an identifiable contribution to ethical inquiry in the social sciences.
A manuscript should state its research question, explain the ethical problem, engage relevant scholarship and show why its argument or evidence matters beyond a narrow case.

Submission package
- Separate title page with author names, affiliations, e-mails, ORCID identifiers and corresponding-author details
- Anonymised manuscript with identifying file properties removed
- Abstract of no more than 300 words and four to eight keywords
- Funding, conflict-of-interest, ethics, consent, data and AI-use statements
- Editable tables and figures with captions and permissions
- Cover letter explaining contribution, journal fit and related publications

Manuscript structure
Use informative headings and make the argumentative or methodological structure explicit. Empirical work should describe design, sampling, analysis and limitations sufficiently for expert assessment. Normative work should define key concepts, reconstruct opposing positions fairly and distinguish premises from conclusions.

Double-anonymous preparation
Remove names, acknowledgements, affiliations and self-identifying metadata from the review manuscript. Cite your own work in the third person where necessary and avoid phrases that reveal authorship. The title page and declarations remain visible to authorised editors but not reviewers.

References and identifiers
Check every citation against the source, include DOI links in the form https://doi.org/... where available, and ensure that in-text citations correspond to the reference list. References should serve the argument rather than inflate citation counts or satisfy coercive requests.

After acceptance
Accepted manuscripts proceed through copyediting, metadata checks, layout and author proofing. Authors must review proofs promptly and restrict changes to corrections unless the editor approves a substantive amendment.
