ERSS makes published research openly available without charging readers or authors.
There is no submission fee, review fee or article processing charge. Access is not dependent on an institutional subscription.

Copyright and licence
For new publications, authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication. The standard licence is Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International unless a clearly documented exception is agreed before publication.
Third-party material may be subject to separate terms and must be identified in captions or acknowledgements.

Migrated articles
The licence shown on each migrated article is derived from the version-of-record PDF and recorded with the archive provenance. Editors should resolve any discrepancy inherited from the former OJS landing pages before changing an article record.

Authors may deposit the published version in institutional or subject repositories, personal websites and scholarly profiles, provided the article is cited and the DOI is included.
