Open Access Policy

Open access journal

This journal is a peer reviewed, subsidized open access journal where Akademia Profile pays for the publishing costs incurred by the journal. Author s do not have to pay any Article Processing Charge or Open Access Publication Fee.

Access rights

All articles published open access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read, download, copy and distribute.

ERSS adheres to the guidelines offered from Bethesda Statement on Open Access Publishing: An Open Access Publication is one that meets the following two conditions:

  1. The author(s) and copyright holder(s) grant(s) to all users a free, irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual right of access to, and a license to copy, use, distribute, transmit and display the work publicly and to make and distribute derivative works, in any digital medium for any responsible purpose, subject to proper attribution of authorship, as well as the right to make small numbers of printed copies for their personal use.
  2. A complete version of the work and all supplemental materials, including a copy of the permission as stated above, in a suitable standard electronic format is deposited immediately upon initial publication in at least one online repository that is supported by an academic institution, scholarly society, government agency, or other well-established organization that seeks to enable open access, unrestricted distribution, interoperability, and long-term archiving.

User rights

Permitted reuse is defined by the following user license(s):

Reuse of ERSS Article Content

Akademia Profile applies the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY) license, that allow free and unrestricted use, to articles and other works we publish. If you submit your paper for publication by ERSS, you agree to have the CC BY license applied to your work. If your institution or funder requires your work or materials to be published under a different license or dedicated to the public domain - for example Creative Commons 1.0 Universal (CC0) or Open Governmental License - this is permitted for those licenses where the terms are equivalent to or more permissive than CC BY. Akademia Profile requires that you as the author agree that anyone can reuse your article content in whole or part for any purpose, for free, even for commercial purposes. These permitted uses include but are not limited to self-archiving by authors of submitted, accepted and published versions of their papers in institutional repositories. Anyone may copy, redistribute, reuse, or modify the content as long as the author and original source are properly cited. This facilitates freedom in reuse and also ensures that ERSS content can be mined without barriers for the needs of research.

Content Owned by Someone Else

If your manuscript contains content such as photos, images, clipart, tables, audio files, videos, proprietary protocols, code, etc., that you or your co-authors do not own or did not create, we will require you to provide us with proof that either:

Please note that purchasing copyright use is unlikely to meet this requirement, as many journals and publishers restrict the terms of purchased copyright use in ways that do not accommodate open access publication. In addition, we cannot accept Creative Commons licensed materials with additional non-commercial (CC BY-NC), share-alike (CC BY-SA), or non-derivative (CC BY-ND) clauses.

The full details of the license are available at

Author rights

For open access publishing, this journal uses a copyright transfer agreement. Authors will transfer copyright to the Akademia Profile, but will have the right to share their article in the same ways permitted to third parties under the relevant user license, as well as certain scholarly usage rights.

Editorial Committee Purpose

We believe that Open Access and the adoption of the CC BY 4.0 license contribute to the democratization of knowledge and foster a more inclusive and sustainable scholarly ecosystem. By promoting unrestricted access to research, ERSS aims to facilitate the global exchange of ideas, advance the understanding of issues, ethical considerations, and legal frameworks, and ultimately contribute to the betterment of society as a whole.

We invite researchers, academics, practitioners, policymakers, and all interested individuals to support and engage with the Ethical Review of Social Sciences. Together, let us embrace the principles of Open Access, collaboration, and knowledge dissemination for the betterment of our global community.
